Synopsis of Projects

executed by SPEC

Mersen Chongqing Co. Limited, Chongqing , China.
(formerly Carbone Lorraine Chongqing)
Projects for Specialised Graphite Baking Furnaces 1-6 with Furnaces and auxiliaries supplied by Ermat, France. We provided commissioning supports through COVIL Ingénierie, France.

For this Project, we have provided on-site supports of more than 7 years between 2007 till now. Our on-site support included total erection supervision of Civil, Mechanical, Electrical jobs; configuration of instrumentation, complete commissioning, trouble shooting and extensive customisation & upgradation of automation programming. The extensive  upgradation of this project included modification of Siemens S7-400 PLC programming and Wnderware Intouch SCADA / HMI Programming and customisation of Siemens drive controls.

We have also done S7-300 PLC and WinCC SCADA programming with Electrical control circuit design related to Scrubber Absorber Tower 2 and Demister. Our services also included production optimisation and process control modifications in program, along with training of Chinese technicians and managers on operation & maintenance.

After initial installation, all the burners of those furnaces have been modified from single fuel of Natural Gas to dual option of fuels - Natural Gas or  Diesel for main burners and NG or LPG for Pilot Burners.

 An on site calibration station has been operationalised by us with neccessary training given to local Chinese technicians and managers to do in house calibration of instruments.

We hve also provided extensive off-site supports for this project from our head office in Kolkata and also from France.

The end products of these Baked Graphites are used in the manufacturig process of solar cells, Integrated Circuits / IC chips, Automobile industry, chemical industries and many other. Currently we do annual review of all the related equipment and system of these Graphite Baking Furnaces at site in Chongqing, China

Nanshan Aluminium, Longkou, Shandong, China.
We have provided Project commissioning and support services in 2015-16 and 2018 for 4 nos 14m Aluminium Aging Furnaces, 2 nos. 27m Aluminium Aging Furnace and 2 charging systems of European Furnace Repion ( EFR Fours ), France, at the site of Nanshan Aluminium Co., Longkou, Shandong, China. The services were provided through COVIL, France.

The on site services mainly included erection of mechanical & electrical checking & commissioning, PLC & SCADA modifications for customisation and especially doing Temperature Uniformity Surveys ( TUS ). Job included multiple Siemens drives and Eurotherm heating controller configuration and commissioning along with integration with the PLC and SCADA / HMI. This Project required modification and customisation of multiple platforms of programming integrated with WinCC. Products of all these Furnaces are used in manufacturing of Aircrafts, hence, all related regulations need to be followed in recording data and cross verification.

We have also provided auxilliary support services at the same site for the commissioning of 27M Aluminium Annealing Furnace and Homogenising Furnaces of Four EFR, France.

Stein Heurtey / Fives Stein, France.
Intouch (SCADA Level 2) jobs for Benxi I & II Projects, China. The job was done thru' COVIL Ingenierie.
We did on-site PCS7 Automation Program modification & commissioning of 2 nos 250 MT/H Walking Beam type Re-heating furnaces of Essar Steel at Hazira, Gujrat, India. Burner commissioning were also done by us along with other erection activities. We also provided off-site job supports for this project in France and in from India too.

Jobs related to Automation System of Special Utility Autoclave Furnaces, operated with Eurotherm PLC and SCADA systems for A.I.A. Clermont Ferrand, France. Similar jpbs for BRETAGNE, EADS, INEO, MS Composittes & MICHELIN have also been executed by us. COVIL was the technology provider for the control systems in these Projects.

Anning Decco Fine Chemical Co. Ltd, Kunming, China

Assistance in process knowhow and development of Lac by products like Aleuritic Acid, along with Indian vendor evaluation for supply of lac raw materials, like shellac. Services were provided in West Bengal & Jharkhand states of India for this company of French origin. Automation related consultancy was provided at their factory in Kunming, China.

Chongqing Iceman Energy Storage &

Ice Making Technology Co. Ltd., Chongqing, China

Complete Project negotiation, finalisation, coordination, customisation of design to suit Indian specifications, electrical control design as per European standard, supervision of fabrication in China, packing and export documentation support, erection assistance and inspection at Colourtex Industries, Surat, Gujrat to supply and install 3 nos flake ice manufacturing machines and 4 nos ice storages of 100MT each with conveyor bottom.

We have also done extensive inspection at the premises of suppliers of Chongqing Iceman, including those at Wuhan, Hangzhou & Dalian

SAIL - IISCO Steel Plant, India.
Project Management including Drive erection, mill-wright alignment, Hammer Mill erection, precision and heavy coupling fitting and alignment, belting and commissioning of Coal and Coke Conveyors for Coke Oven Battery 10. This Project was done for STS at SAIL-ISP, Burnpur, near Asansol, West Bengal, in Eastern India. We were also engaged for the RCC and PCC related civil jobs for the Gas Cleaning Plant ( GCP ) of the existing Blast Furnace modernisation Project.

Modification and upgradation of Slitting line under the inspection of the overseas experts of Ryerson, USA, prior to hand over of the Slitting line from TRF Limited to Tata Ryerson at Jamshedpur, Jharkhand in India .

Installation of high precission and automated Aluminium Strip Coiled Slitting Line of MECESA ( CINSER ) , Spain at Belur, Howrah, West Bengal in Eastern India.

NICCO Corp. Limited, Shyamnagar, India.
Projects for upgradation and modification of Closer Machine for steel rope manufacturing along with overhauling of 48 & 72-Bobbin Armouring-cum-laying machine for copper and aluminium cable manufacturing.

INDAL ( HINDALCO ) , Hirakud, Orissa, India
Installation of Pechiney Caster and Alpur with Ermat Furnaces and auxiliary systems for making Aluminium coils.

Indian Oil Refinery Project, Panipat, India.
Involving fabrication and erection of above ground and under ground pipes of 1/4" to 60" dia of CS, SS and Alloy Steel. The job also included very heavy static and high precision rotary equipment erection, including erection of "Bullets" of up to 130MT and installation of Pump & Compressor house equipments & on-equipment piping. This was a green field project of Stewarts & Lloyds of India Ltd (A Tata company), executed by Kurchi Projects (P) Ltd. of Kolkata, at IOCL Panipat, near Karnal, Haryana, India.
